a.k.a. Scams of Poetry
When I was significantly younger, I submitted a poem to a poetry contest. I was overjoyed when my poem was selected as a finalist and the company offered me the chance to purchase their Sounds of Poetry audio CD which included a narration of my poem. I bought it, of course. I didn't realize at the time that this is just a scam. They accept nearly any poem and, if you buy their CD, pay some guy to read it for a quick buck. It is still cool to hear some dude reading my garbage poem, but in the modern day I could have just had any number of people on Fiverr read it dramatically for far less.
I've included the audio ripped from the CD as well as a dramatic reading by the masterful Dagoth Ur. Please enjoy.
